I recently had the need of a body die for my 6.5BR Nesika to bump the shoulders back on my brass. I tried a standard Redding 7BR die, but it really did not work well.

I had the original reamer used to chamber the pistol & asked a machinist friend of mine who has also built a few pistols & rifles for himself if he could make me a body die. Long story short, he did and it works perfectly.

He is willing to make body dies for others. If you have a reamer & are in need of a die, Mike will make one.

He is interested in knowing if there is any interest out there.

Please post your thoughts so I can share them with him.

Thanks,

Steve W.

Would using a bushing style neck sizer, without a bushing, be capable of bumping the shoulder back? I just tried calling Redding, but they're closed until Monday. I know Redding's FL bushing die will, but you'll be sizing the body also. Just a thought..... (I love when you can use what you already have, to do different tasks!)

I think you would run into the same problem that Steve was having. The hole for the bushing would create a false shoulder and you would not solve your problem. Now if you got a regular neck sizing die and ground a little off the bottom, that might work.

I would grind a shell holder before a die. It's cheaper to replace.

Or you could just order the set of shell holders that Redding offers that are already different thickness. I believe that they are like .001" differences. And they come in cute little box, so you can use them on all cases that use the same head size.
