Good Guy Report #1: Several years ago one of the members of our shooting range died & willed his firearm collection to it. One of the pieces was a Daisy Model 104 air rifle. This is a double barreled BB gun that was made between 1937 and 1939. Our Executive Vice President wanted to know if it was worth refurbishing and she asked me to head up the project.
I contacted Daisy and I was told this rifle was one of the more collectable Daisys. I was given the contact number for the Daisy Museum and a very helpful person gave me the name & phone # of a person to contact to refurbish it. The rifle is now being totally rebuilt right down to a new stock and forend. A $600 investment will give us a $1,500 rifle that will increase in value.
Good Guy Report #2: I suspected my 747 was having problems and ran it over a chronograph. The velocity was all over the place from 189 fps to 290 fps, all well below the 345 to 360 range a 747 normally operates within. I again contacted Daisy, explained the problem and asked for the proper parts to rebuild it. I did not want to send it into the factory as I want to shoot it later this month in the Oregon State AIR Championship. I received the parts at no charge in a week, and my gunsmith as replaced all the seals and valve assembly.
It is great to deal with a company that exemplifies excellent customer service.
