Paul "44 Magnum" Edmundson Memorial Handgun Fun Shoot, Marathon, WI

What:
Paul "44 Magnum" Edmundson Memorial Handgun Fun Shoot.

Where:
Marathon Trap & Sportsman’s Club, 1558 County Rd. N, Marathon, WI.
From Hwy 51/39: West at Exit 188, (just south of Wausau), Go 6.6 miles west on Hwy N (¼ mile west of Hwy O),
From Hwy 29: South at Exit 156,(Marathon City, west of Wausau) Go 3 miles South on Hwy 107 to CR N, then East on CR N 3.1 miles.
The club is on the North side of the road.

When:
Friday June 18th from 9 to 5,
Saturday June 19th from 9 to 5,
Sunday June 20th 9 to 3. Sunday will be our scheduled IHMSA match, all shooters welcome.
A portion of Friday and Saturdays entry fees will go to Pauls Family to help with medical bills.

Lunch will be served Friday,
Lunch and dinner will be served on Saturday,
Breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
If enough shooters RSVP, we will have a pig roast for Dinner on Saturday, so please RSVP early!
There will be sale tables, with some of Pauls collection being sold
Free camping available on site. ( There are bathrooms, but no camper hookups or campfires available.)
Thursday after 3PM will be our setup day, with free open practice afterwards. Come early and join us!

Friday and Saturdays Special events will include:

#1: Snubby Field Pistol= Revolvers with max. 3” barrel *

#2: Field Pistol = Revolvers with max. 6” barrel *

#3: Field Pistol = Autos with max. 5” barrel *
*Production type guns, IHMSA FP Targets at 25, 50, 75, and 100 yards.
NO sight adjustments allowed on these three divisions!!

#4: Revolver (freestyle) on the Big Bore Half Scale targets

#5: Unlimited Standing Big Bore - Half Scale

#6: Revolver (freestyle) Small Bore Fifth Scale (Runts)

#7: Unlimited Standing Small Bore Fifth Scale
( Big bore targets are 50, 100, 150, and 200 meters, small bore at 25, 50, 75, and 100 yards.)

The scores may be low, but the fun factor will be high!!

IHMSA scores may be shot any day, as all shooting will be done in standard 2 minute called relays.
We will be setting up a couple of benches to accommodate you guys who don't like laying on your back or belly to shoot! Those targets: Paint balls at 50 and 100 meters, and gongs at 200!!
IHMSA Big Bore and Half Scale targets may be shot also, with priority going to shooters on the line.
We are having hats made up to commemorate the event, I'll post a pic when I get one! RSVP's are greatly appreciated.

Marathon Trap & Sportsman’s Club is a very nice IHMSA range with all reset targets and nice clubhouse. We are in a GREAT location for an inexpensive vacation. Wausau is around 10 miles from the range; and Marshfield, Stevens Point, and Wisconsin Rapids all within 30 miles. Plenty of shopping, sightseeing, fishing, hiking, biking, swimming, boating, etc. within 30 miles.
60 miles north and you are in the Northwoods, home of Paul Bunyan, Bald Eagles, and the Hodag!!
Door County, Minoqua, Green Bay, and Wisconsin Dells are all within an hour or two..... It'll be fun for all!!

Hey Mark,

I will be shooting the West Coast Championships in Oregon at those times. so is there any way we can purchase a hat to help out? I gave Paul an old IHMSA paper that had an ad for the DW 1 of 500, that Dean now has. He was truely a gentleman and will be missed.

Yup, Paul was a good guy. And he liked his wheelguns... Hence all of the revolver divisions at his shoot! I remember that Dan Wesson, It looked cool with the IHMSA markings, and it was in nice shape! I loaned him my 8" shroud so he could test loads with a scope without marking up his, but I'm not sure he ever shot it. He bought a couple of FA's before he died, and he never even got to shoot a match with them. One of them I 'm pretty sure he never got to shoot at all.

Anyhow, I'll get some info on the hats for you as soon as we get some made up. Have fun at WCC!!
