Does one of these cartridges have an advantage over the other? I already have an XP in 7BR, but have the opportunity to get a good deal on a Contender barrel in 7/TCU. Is it worth having both? Thanks-

If it's a 10" for use in production and standing it would be well worth it. The 7TCU is a good cartridge that can be loaded up for 500m or loaded down for standing. If it's a 14" barrel I don't think I'd bother, unless you were going to make it into an unlimited standing rig.
I have an Xp in 7br and I also have a Contender with a 10 inch barrel in 7tcu. I love them both and would not be without either. I compete with both. I use open sights on the Contender in Production and am changing over to a scope on the XP for UAS. You do not NEED both, but it sure is great to have both.
Mike.
The TCU is much milder...but the 7BR just looks sexy.

I have 2 7BR XP-100's, one is my UAS the other is my deticated Cast Bullet Unlimited gun. I have 2 7TCU's. One is a 10" production, the other is a 14" that I use for US. Yes I have a need for them all and like them all for their intended purpose. If the one you are looking at is a 10" great for production or standing with the right loads. If it is a 14" set it up for US, again with the right loads it is a joy to shoot. Light puppy dawg load for the 7TCU for S or US is 8.0gr unique behind a RCBS 145SIL cast. I have also used 9.0gr unique with a 150 jacketed.

I see that some set their 14'' 7 TCU for US.I don't have a 7TCU but was considering it getting one in 14" and us it in UAS.Is there a concern with using it in the creedmore?I shoot my 30-30 14" that way
You'll be able to use it, just as you do with your 30-30. You'll be able you load it way down, so recoil will be lighter. The 7 tcu is a very accurate little round.

Impossible is just a degree of difficulty

I shout a 7 TCU and it is way better looking than a 7BR. Brass is cheap and there are a ton of loads to shoot.

I have a XPs in 7TCU and 7BR, love 'em both. Both are easy to find an accurate load for. The TCU is easy to form and brass is cheap an easy to find. I also have a 10" Contender in 7TCU that I use for Production Standing.
I say get the barrel. You will likely not regret the decision to do so.
I own an XP in 7BR and an XP in 7TCU. Both have similar barrel lengths. They both wear HS stocks. The 7BR is accurate, easy to load for and quite fun to shoot. The 7TCU is what I take to the matches. It shoots well, is mild to shoot, takes down all of the targets with ease. In a sense, it is my "money gun" or the one I depend on when I want to shoot a good score. However, its chamber is tight and the rounds have to be full length resized and lubed at each loading. I use the 7BR as my practice gun. Neck sizes great, it does have more recoil and the trigger is heavier. If I can shoot the 7BR well, then the TCU is a piece of cake.
I use SR4759 as the powder in each round.

You have to FL size and lube your 7TCU cartridges because of the tight chamber? I've never heard of a chamber so tight that lubing is required. Wow, you must have to keep it clean!
