Hello! How can I find out more about your club? Are you open to new members? I would greatly appreciate any information. Thank you in advance!

Edit: Wow... how do I upgrade that cool avatar??

RWE3 - Cant help with the club, but as far as an avatar, you can go to Settings on the top right of the page and on your profile select one of the avatars there or upload your own. Now, as far as the pink teddy bear, that is not an avatar - that is a "rank". Once you post a few messages it with change to a silhouette of a Chicken target, then Pig, Turkey, Ram, etc.

    Welcome RWE3!

The range is 35 miles south of Cincinnati, just off I-75, located at Lloyds Wildlife Management Area. Crittenden is actually in Grant County. The Northern Kentucky Straight Shooters is the host club (my range). The club intself is open to new members. You do not have to be a club member or IHMSA member to shoot at our range. You can either ask questions here or show up at one of our Friday Silhouette Practice Days, starting March 19 at 10 am. I will be there, weather permitting. Bring any handguns you have to try this, or you can try what I have brought for the day.

Thanks all! I appreciate the welcome and information! Nice site you all have here - guess I should have introduced myself, sorry to be rude! I grew up in Kenton county and cut my teeth on blued steel at Lloyds - shot my first shotguns, rifles and pistol there - man that seems like too many moons ago. Used to shoot bow there too and have made it up to shoot some skeet. I will look you up and appreciate the invite!

Also familiar with where the Lawrenceburg range is but I have never been there. Getting dental work done tomorrow so me and my guns won't be mingling this weekend...

    Thanks again all!

    Thanks again!

Great to have you here. Hopefully you can come out and shoot at one of the nearby ranges once you do, you will be hooked.

    Looks great!

I have driven past there many times but never stopped as I thought it was a trap/skeet range only.
Though now that I think about it I wondered about some of the louder "booms" I head when I stopped & got the kids ice cream down the street from there.

I will be stopping in at the next match!

Great Boomer! Look forward to meeting you there. Don't just stop by for the matches though...starting March 19, we are running our Friday Silhouette practice there. Every Friday through the end of October, weather permitting. I run the practices, and one of the 2 matches there every month, plus we have a Saturday practice before our Sunday matches. Starts at 10 AM.

I missed the 1st match :\ That what I get for thinking I know when they are. I have since put the rest of the dates in my planner.

1 more question, do you shoot air pistol as well? Not that it is a big deal but I have an old Beeman Hurricane that it would be fun to have a use for.

I will try real hard to make it in tomorrow but I fear I may be over committed.

Sorry Boomer, no one here is interested in Air Pistol, except me. Every thing but Air. I will be there tomorrow. Hope you can make it.

Dean, Not trying to hijack your thread. Anderson County in Lawrenceburg has Air Pistol available. Just tell us upon your arrival and we will set it up. Takes about 10 minutes. We normally don't set it up. But will be more than happy to set it up for anyone.
