Thread: TRADING POST Now Open!

    Default TRADING POST Now Open!

You may have noticed that new link above that says Trading Post. This is our newest web site area to buy, sell or trade firearms, gear or services. As with everything else here, this is a brand new version of the software and will most definitely require some tweaks and bug fixes. If you get "excited" when something doesn't work as advertised, probably best to hold off a few weeks before listing an item here.

I would really appreciate some help here. The software comes with 6 different kinds of ads built in. If I can use any of those, life is simple. I can modify these, but then life (and coding PHP) just became far more complex.

I created a TEST AD area. In this section there is a forum for each of the six types of ads. If you are likely to be placing ads, then please test these and give me some feedback. Also, I will leave these in place so you can test run your real ad to see how it would look.

    Thanks!

Is there a section for non gun, but related items like brass, bullets and dies?

Thanks for pointing that out. I will add a couple appropriate sections later tonight.

Hey Burmkiller, I can't get the pics to open on your super cheap '69 Mustang ad. I'm on Firefox here at home, maybe that's got something to do with it?
Here's a couple screen shots for ya, if it helps. This first one is how it looks when I click on the image link...the second is when I hit the supersize link.

OK, the additional categories have been added....not sure what I was thinking. I added these under the Traditional Listing style section. If someone has something they want to sell Auction style I can easily add a category for this in that section - just let me know.

In regards to the pictures, I test every page in IE7 (Windows Vista 64-Bit) and in FireFox 3.x (SuSE Linux 11) and in Safari (iPhone 3GS 3.1.2). The pages work fine for me - even when I test as an unlogged in user (which has the most restrictive rights) as seen in the attachment. When you click on the image you get a larger picture (which I need to make much larger) and when you click on SuperSize you get the original huge image. None of this is working for you? Maybe a ZoneLabs setting? Maybe that game you have opened? Any chance you can try from a different computer? I would really like to make sure this works for everyone so that members have the best chance of selling their stuff.

    Thanks!

I am using Safari & Zone Alarm on a PC & have experienced no problems.

I have discovered a yet to be solved problem. In anything but Internet Explorer you can click on a thumbnail and get a medium sized picture, or click on "supersize" and see the original sized picture. Like my Mustang ad - the thumbnails are 100x100 pixles. The preview when you click on them are 250x250 pixels (except the license plate, which is only thumbnail sized). When you click on supersize you see the fulle 2560x1600 pixel image. Well, in Internet Explorer (at least IE7 of 64-Bit Vista) you cannot get the medium sized preview popup. I am looking in to this now.

lt wouldn't surprise me one bit is it's my computer, this thing's older than Moses...you wouldn't believe some of the funky problems that pop into this stupid thing! Anyway, I'll be able to get onto a different computer tomorrow at work & I'll report back then.

Oh & it shouldn't be the game, that's just one that's built into the Windows XP software & I usually have it open all the time. It gives me something to do during the wait when I open a thread with a huge picture file. LOL!

Ok, it works fine here at work, using IE. So the problem is something with my old beater computer at home.
Nice looking 'Stang BTW, is that yours?

The Mustang is a 1969 428 Super Cobra Jet - all factory correct and maintained in mint condition. Unfortunately after several years of paying to store and rarely driving that 5MPG beast around, I sold it. It dyno'd at 510HP and 535ft/lbs...like a bat out of hell in a straight line - just don't ask me to stop or turn!

On your home computer you are not, by any chance, using Internet Explorer 6.x are you? If so, that will not work nor are there plans to ever make it work.

Woops, sorry for my delayed reply.
My home computer is using some fairly recent version of Firefox...can't recall which one it is, at the moment. I'm on I.E. here at work.

Thanks for the Mustang story, it sounds & looks like it was sure fun!
